March 25th, 2008 - A Few Things

While we are keeping our updates to a minimum on this site until the new one is built, I just wanted to throw a few things up here. Pictures from the house show in Muskegon are up on our myspace page. We are working on getting the audio/video from the show up and available for stream/download, just give us some more time.

I filmed this video at the “Army Life” CD release party but never got around to posting it. TH!TTG! is playing half with Chris Bathgate and members of Frontier Ruckus.

The best place to get more news and updates is still on our myspace page.

I will leave you with another video clip of TH!TTG! It was filmed last weekend at Mac’s Bar in East Lansing and sent to my by someone in the audience via youtube.

February 5th, 2008 - TH!TTG! An Army Life CD Release Party

On January 26th, 2008, That's Him! That's the Guy! celebrated the release of their new album, "An Army Life" in East Lansing Michigan. Canada, Chris Bathgate and Frontier Ruckus also played the show and Members of Frontier Ruckus and Mr. Chris Bathgate also joined the guys on stage for a handful of songs later in the evening. It was a splendid party with great people and even better music.

TH!TTG! played an awesome set consisting of songs from the new album and a few old classics. If you haven't seen them live recently, you have to hear Half, Gold Truck and Polish Lancers live. They have a few shows scheduled in the near future, check out their myspace for dates and places. The CD turned out really good, all of the songs are terrific and the artwork looks amazing. You can head over to the Jumberlack and TH!TTG! to preview some of the new tracks.

Thanks to Peter at (Scene) Metrospace for hosting this extra special event. The new CD can be purchased through the Jumberstore or our myspace page. We are still working on a new web site and the place to get news and tour dates is through our myspace page.

Here are links to the other bands that help TH!TTG! celebrate the release of An Army Life:

November 3rd, 2007 - New Website Coming Soon

Hello everybody, we are currently working on building a new website so there will not be much activity on the main site. For up to date news and tour dates please check out myspace page.

We are running out of FREER CD's and right now it does not look like there is going to be a second pressing. So head over to the store and pick up a copy. You'll be able sell that for big bucks on Ebay someday.

TH!TTG! has finished recording their debut full length "An Army Life" and it will be going to the presses real soon. So keep an eye out for a presale real soon. Head over to their myspace page to preview some of the new songs.

June 9th, 2007 - We Jam Econo!

”Juliette I just finished watching The Minuteman documentary and I highly recommend it to everyone. If you like the band it does a good job of telling the story of the band, and if you’ve never heard of them, it is a good time to learn about them.

FREER played a gig in Chicago last weekend with Office. The show was great and the people in attendance were burning holes in the soles of their dancing shoes. FREER is taking a small break from touring before heading out with The Go at the end of the month. TH!TTG! has picked up a few shows this summer and will try and a schedule a few more. They are also in the studio putting the finishing touches up on The Army Life.

Juliette ShimkinI believe most of the Jumberlack family will be in West Michigan over the 4th of July holiday period. So if you are in the area and want to get down, get a hold of us.

Finally, we added a few more paintings by Juliette Shimkin, head over to the JumberStore to take a look, and don’t forget to check out Ms. Amy Evans (6 more weeks until she becomes a mommy!) art, and the music of FREER and TH!TTG!

Hope all is well in your world,

Ken

May 21st, 2007 - Hey Ya’ll…We’re Bi-Laketal now!

Yes, that’s right, we now control both sides of Lake Michigan. Dylan has taken over duties at Jumber-Manor, Brett is controlling Jumberlack-North, and Ken is holding down Jumber-One-Bedroom-Basement-Apartment-in-a-Suspect-Neighborhood-in-Chicago.

We’ve added some new shows to the shows sections. TH!TTG! has a few new dates, and FREER will be hitting the road quite a bit over the summer including a short east coast stint with The Go.

If you haven’t picked up a copy of the FREER disc yet, it’s available through our website or myspace page, or on Amazon. It should be up on iTunes in the near future.

TH!TTG! has finished recording their new album. We’ve heard the demos and we love it. It is tentatively called “The Army Life” and should be out around fall sometime.

More news to come…just wanted to make a quick post to prove we’re not dead.

xoxo

The Jumberlacks

March 6th, 2007 - House Rock Show

David MartinThe inaugural Jumber House show was a great success. The bands were rocking and the partying went on 'till the break of dawn. I gained a new found respect for people from Traverse City, those cats know how to party. We can't thank Matt Hopper, Leeroy Stagger, and David of TH!TTG! enough for putting on such a great show. Also thanks to Dylan Brock for his improvised mini-set during one of the breaks.

Hopper and StaggerIf you haven't heard the music of Hopper and Stagger yet, do yourself a favor and go check them out out on Myspace. I put up a few videos from the show on our YouTube account for everybody to enjoy.

The FREER (http://www.myspace.com/freerdom) presale is in full effect! Head over to the store (store.php) to pick up your copy before they are officially released and get FREE shipping. FREER (http://www.myspace.com/freerdom) has a bunch of upcoming shows around the Midwest and East Coast, so head over to their Myspace (http://www.myspace.com/freerdom) or the shows page for more information.

Here are some more pics from the house show:

February 5th, 2007 - February is...

In case you haven't figured it out yet, Jumberlack Media is proud to announce that FREER has joined the Jumberlack family. I could tell you how awesome they are, but you can go check them out for yourself, and while you're there add them to your friends.

www.myspace.com/freerdom

We are expecting big things from the boys in FREER, the official CD release party is March 23rd in Detroit, but be on the lookout for a presale in the next couple of weeks. They have some upcoming shows that you should try and go see. We are working overtime here at the manor to get everything ready for the release.

We are doing our best to best to push TH!TTG!'s song February. If you live near a college radio station please call and request it. If you need the request line number of your local station let me know. Also, if you're looking for a new profile song, go ahead and add it. It's also up for download on iTunes, Emusic, Napster, Rhapsody and most other fine digital outlets.

We also put up our first podcast. Ken is a terrible DJ. You can access through our multimedia page (coming soon) or through our myspace. Expect the March podcast to be a little more exciting and feature a lot more music.

We also created a YouTube account to host all the videos I have. Right now there is some live footage of TH!TTG! Most of the video is good quality, but there are a few that are somewhat dark, and they all have good sound quality. Although in one, there is some d-bag talking on his cell phone through some of the song.

December 12th, 2006 - Kate is Great!

A few hundred miles traversed in the Cavalier, a few states and a few more cities visited, one oil change, a few heartbreaks, a few pictures taken, a few videos shot, a few Family Guy episodes watched, a few fill ups, a few concerts, a few snowstorms, and finally another update.

Band - CanadaFirst and foremost, That’s Him! That’s the Guy! is now in iTunes and most other online digital stores. If you haven’t picked up the CD yet, you can head over to iTunes and download some songs.

Canada, That’s Him! That’s the Guy! and I all braved the winters first snow storm to make it up to Traverse City for a couple of shows. It was my first time up in TC in a long, long time. It is a pleasant place and I was treated to some delicious pizza and sandwiches while up there. The drive was very scenic, but I could only sneak a few peaks since my eyes were glued to the road and fingers strangling the steering wheel to avoid going into a ditch. It was well worth the scary drive, Canada and TH!TTG! killed it both nights. I got plenty of pictures of videos to prove it. In case you are wondering, the third person on stage with TH!TTG! is Aaron Saul of Canada. He came up on stage to add a little extra magic and a little extra coolness to a couple of songs. Please click on the pictures below from the shows up in TC.

Band - CanadaThis past weekend TH!TTG! played…no…rocked E. Lansing with James Collin, Chris Bathgate, and Frontier Ruckus. That was my first time seeing all those bands not named That’s Him! That’s the Guy! and I was very impressed. It certainly is an exciting time for music in the mitten state.

The Jumberlack Fantasy Football Experience has concluded and the playoffs start on Monday. Unfortunately Team Jumberlack was ousted from the playoffs by losing its final two games due to freakish point explosions by the opposition. Alas, the first round matchups are as follows:

#1 Sparty’s Riot v. #4 C. Norris’ Pajamas

#2 Christ Punchers v. #3 Sweeney’s Pony Party

I am also working on website to host all the videos of TH!TTG! I have been shooting over the last couple of months. It should be finished by the end of the weekend. However, if anyone has ever witnessed me messing with HTML, it may end up taking a few weeks.

If you were wondering what the title of the update was all about, our good friend Kate is no longer Kate, she’s Doctor Kate, caretaker of animals. That’s right, she steps out of the classroom and into the white coat, and will begin practicing veterinary medicine. Congratulations!

Finally, a few more great Michigan bands to check out if you’re bored:

November 24th, 2006 - Black Friday Update

Busy, busy, busy! Things are picking up around Jumber Manor so we’ve been slacking on the updates. We redesigned the store and made it more user friendly. The TH!TTG! CD is picking up steam and is now in rotation at WTHS 89.9 in Holland.

TH!TTG! were name-dropped on VH1’s “Best Week Ever”. We thought it was very cool.

Ms. Amy Evans sold her first painting through the Jumber Store. We are learning how difficult it can be to ship a four foot by two foot painting.

Finally, check the shows page for details on TH!TTG! playing shows in the next couple of weeks. This coming weekend of Dec. 1 & 2 the guys will be opening for Canada in Traverse City. This is going to be a lot of fun and hope to see lots of people out for the show.

October 15th, 2006 - Tiger Fever!

We have added a lot of content to the site, so please browse around and check it out.

TH!TTG! played E. Lansing last weekend with a few experimental noise/ambient bands. While it was a very interesting bill for TH!TTG! to playing, it turned out to be a very fun show. We posted a few videos from the show on our myspace page, just click on the videos link.

Everybody in the Jumberlack family is very excited for the Tigers run at the World Series. Who’s your Tiger? Jumberlack is quite fond of Craig Monroe. When the Tigers finally bring home the title, be prepared for a champagne party at the Manor.

October 5th, 2006 - Jumberlack Rocks the First and Second City

What a stellar past couple of weeks for the Jumberlack family. That’s Him! That’s the Guy! managed to rock the Wicker Park neighborhood in Chicago despite David breaking his banjo and acoustic guitar before the show started. Extra specials thanks to all of those involved in that show. The CD is now available for sale on Amazon, FBC in E. Lansing and Vertigo Records in Grand Rapids. It will also soon be available on iTunes and other fine online retailers.

Brock and Link spent the past week in New York City living the rock star lifestyle. They had a couple of gigs around the city, and a photo shoot with Clay Patrick McBride. Please go to their myspace to see the pictures.

September 19th, 2006 - News, Reviews, and Shows

That's Him! That's the Guy! recieved a couple colorful reviews since our last update. One nice review was from the United Kingdom. You can check it out at Another Form of Relief. TH!TTG! also made the front page of Sound the Sirens, you can find the full review here.

Speaking of That’s Him! That’s the Guy!, they recently finished up recording an EP for a split tape (yes…we said tape) and have posted a few tracks on their myspace page. We are in the process of booking some shows for them so be on the lookout for new dates in the upcoming weeks. They are playing in Chicago this Saturday (Sept. 23) at Humboldt Studios. Contact us if you need any information.

In other Jumberlack news, The Hill Ensemble have finished the mixing and mastering on their debut LP. We hope to have that out sometime in November.

Dylan Brock and Ian Link have been hard at work. They have a couple of gigs in NYC next week, Sunday Sep. 24 & 25th, check their myspace page for venue information. They’ve also been grinding away in the basement working on a new album, and will also be playing in Muskegon at the Bayside Beanery on Sep. 30.

August 27th, 2006 - The weekend in review

Friday night Dylan and Dave played an acoustic set at Brooklyn Bagels. We actually had a pretty decent turnout for only having one days notice for the show. A good time was had by all, and I got to hear some songs from Dave that I hadn't heard before, and I got to hear Dylan cover Neutral Milk Hotel. Good times.

Saturday we had a little festival planned with some of the areas finest musicians. Dylan Brock and the Dunes played, and sufficiently rocked the crowd. How hard did they rock you ask? Well, they rocked so hard some dude started slam dancing and was doing back flip kicks and crazy arm swings. I am being 100% serious; I hope we captured that on film. I was worried that when they closed with the Freebird cover that it was going to bring the foundation down, luckily, it did not.

TH!TTG! (both Dave and Joe) played a little later. While their sound was a little out of place with the rest of the bands there, they quickly won over the crowd. When Mr. Martin donned the banjo, there were a few weird looks and fingers pointed. However, by the end of their set, the entire audience was captivated by their beautiful performance. That was my first time seeing them, I was thoroughly impressed. Now, when they hit it big, the select few who were lucky enough to witness that can say "I remember seeing them play the Eggelston Town Hall, before they got all big and starting playing clubs."

Thanks to all the bands at the Jumberlack Festival, we had a great time. Also, thanks to Ms. Amy Evans for all her help and support this weekend.

We also had a housewarming weekend at the Jumber Manor. Again, a good time was had by all, a few tugs of whiskey were taken, and a few High Lifes consumed.

We hope to see you all soon, and we hope you enjoyed the music.
